SAfA – Stiftungsallianz für Afrika (Foundation Alliance for Africa) – is a not-for-profit company that unites the expertise, resources, and vision of three renowned foundations with a shared conviction that Africa’s youth are the drivers of thriving societies in Africa.
Together, we address the pressing challenges of unemployment, resource scarcity, and limited access to essential services by fostering growth through education, agriculture, health, and logistics.
Our work is rooted in collaboration and measurable impact. With projects currently underway in Ethiopia and Tanzania, we are committed to empowering young people to seize opportunities, to shape their futures and contribute to flourishing societies.

Jorge Tiemeier, Managing Director of SAfA
At SAfA, we believe in the power of collaboration to create lasting
change. By uniting our expertise and resources, we are empowering
young people to take charge of their futures while addressing the
root causes of poverty. Together, we are building a foundation for
viable development and self-reliance in Africa.
Kühne-Stiftung
Kühne Foundation specializes in logistics and supply chain management. Through its LEARN program, the foundation strengthens local education systems and builds capacity in logistics, creating pathways to employment for young people.
Rossmann Stiftung
Rossmann Stiftung is dedicated to improving family planning, health and social well-being. It supports initiatives that enhance access to sexual and reproductive health services, empower young women, and address gender-based inequalities.
Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS)
HRNS focuses on the economic and social development of farming families and communities. With expertise in agricultural training and youth empowerment, HRNS plays a critical role in equipping the next generation with skills in modern agriculture, sustainable farming practices, and entrepreneurship.
We envision a future where young people in Africa are the driving force behind prosperous, resilient, and inclusive societies.
By strengthening agricultural value chains, improving logistics education, and expanding access to health services, while also tackling youth unemployment, promoting gender equality, and fostering success in agriculture and entrepreneurship, these projects are creating pathways for young people to build sustainable livelihoods. They are expected to generate lasting economic opportunities, improve community well-being, and empower youth to drive local and national development.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supports SAfA by providing strategic direction and financial resources. BMZ ensures SAfA’s programs align with global development goals, driving measurable impact for Africa’s youth.

The Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW) advises SAfA on youth empowerment and sexual and reproductive health. With its expertise, DSW strengthens SAfA’s initiatives, fostering healthier communities and opportunities for young people to thrive.
